Luciano Charles Scorsese (May 8, 1913 – August 23, 1993) was an American film actor.
Scorsese was born in New York City, the son of Teresa and Francesco Scorsese, Italian/Sicilian immigrants from Polizzi Generosa, a small town near Palermo.[1][2] He married film actress Catherine Scorsese in 1933. He was the father of Academy Award winning film director Martin Scorsese. He made his first film appearance in Raging Bull, in 1980, playing "Charlie." He made appearances in other gangster movies such as GoodFellas in 1990, portraying "Vinnie," a character based on real life gangster Thomas Agro, and Casino in 1995. Charles had made his last appearance in Casino, and went to live in New York.
Scorsese died on August 23, 1993, in New York City at the age of 80.
